I know that it has been a while since I updated. Well I didnt have anything good to write. Well now I do. I just had the best weekend of the year for sure. It was camping with good friends. Rae, Kenny, Derek, Pete, Annie, Chris and Shane. Good times all for sure. The location of our wonderful trip was the the Ford's place in Alberta Beach. Thanks Doug and Dee Ford for the great place. Derek's parents are awesome for sure. We got there at 315am on sunday. We were suppose to arrive sooner but with stopping to get groceries and gas and other things it took us a bit longer to get there. Rae, Kenny, Pete and I got there then and then Derek, Annie, Chris and Shane got there shortly after 400am. We skipped out on sleep until early am after the sun came up. We had good times the entire weekend. I got to go fishing!!!! Derek taught me to fish. I got 2. Totally we got 5 fish. That was Derek, Annie and I that went fishing. We also saw some sweet sunsets this weekend. And we saw the northern lights on monday night. They were wicked.
I will add pics of our trip as soon as I get a chance. Anyways well thats all for now, I just had the best weekend ever. Also 2 weeks today I go to ontario for Amy Beckners wedding. Time is just flying by.

Ok finally an update. Well since last time I wrote on here, I have moved to Banff. I know live with Rae and Kenny and I love it tons. I started a new job on the 12th of this month. I love that job too. Also I have gotten a hair cut. Its layered now and im getting use to it. Its pretty different then what I am use to. Today was most likely the first nice day we have had in a long time. Also today was the church pinic it was the Banff and Canmore churches together. Afterwards I hung out with Annik, Shane, Dusty, Michelle, Mike, Dave, Jordon and Jason. We went to cascade ponds went swimming and layed around for a while. It was an awesome afternoon. Well thats the short story of whats going on in my life right now. I will try and update sooner next time.

A New Job!!!

I know that it has been a while since I have updated. Well alot has happened in the last little while. With alot of prayer and a week off in Ontario I have decided that it is time for me to leave the hotel and move onto something new. Today I was offered a job at Bow Valley Basics in Banff. I went in today to photocopy resumes and ended up in a interview and got a job offer at the end. I also had an interview at another place and I did not decided until I was finish with that. So today I was able to quit my job. It is an amazing feeling and I feel so much better having quit now. I know that without the pray time that I have spend on this and God stepping in and providing me with this job it would not have happened. Also the one thing I forgot to say was thta as of June 1st I will be living in banff. I will be living with Rae and Kenny. I'm so excited with all the new changes in my life right now. I know for sure that this was the right choice in everything. So ya thats pretty much whats going on right now.
Ontario. That was a good trip too. I was there for a week I went home for the summit reunion. Which was cancelled. But hey we still got to hang out with everyone that showed up anyways. I also got he chance to stay at the Beckner's trailer while I was at MBC. Thats was good times. Thank You Amy and family for letting me stay. I got a chances to see alot of people when I was home which was great. I didn't get to see some members of my family but maybe next time when I am in Ontario. Last friday was probally my highlight of the last few weeks. My day started off nice in early and I went to Banff to meet up with Annik, Shane, Chris, Shannon and Bev. We headed off to sunshine to ride for the day. It was so sweet, the weather was great and the company was better. At the top the snow was blowing so hard into my face it made it hard to see to do up my bindings. I didn't fall to much in the day and I was trying to ride fast with everyone, who are all skiers. I had a few good wipeouts on the day but they were to painfull. So overall the day on the hill was amazing. Afterwards, I went to Annik's had a nap and she made me supper. She rocks. In the evening Annik and I came back to Canmore and went to Mel and Nicole's place to play some games. Michael and their friend was there too. We played a game of risk. Good game it was my first time. We also played Settlers of Catan, one of my new favourite games since they introduced it to me. So the day was full of amazing people and good social times.
Oh ya I forgot to mention that I got a super sunburnt face and had a wicked google tan. Its not as red anymore so its all good.

Change is something I have never liked but more than ever I am learning to live with it.
As I look back at my life in the last year and alot has changed. The major change was in April when Lindsay and I drove to Alberta and moved here. Since then change becomes part of life. With the amount of people that come and go to Banff and Canmore its pretty crazy. I have gotten the chance to meet so many people. I have lived with over 15 different people in the last year. I joined a super cool church and people come and go from there all the time. Its so crazy. Its like you start to get to know people and time goes by and all the sudden its time for them to leave. I have said alot of hard goodbyes in the last year. In the last 11 days alone I have said goodbye to 4 wonderful ladies that I lived/worked with. I know that I will see them all again but them not at work makes things different. With Hannah, Rachael and Melissa leaving at the beginning of the month and Rae Rae leaving this past sunday work has really changed and ya its hard and different. Well anyways I know that with change there is some good things that come out of it and we just don't see it at the time when it is happening. Even though I am learning that change it part of life and that you grow from it I still don't like it. I miss you all, the people that I have gotten to know and that have left this place. Good luck with where ever you are now.
Just so that you know, Hannah, Rachael, Melissa and Rae Rae I miss you and can't wait to see you all again.

So the time has finally came. Within the hour Hannah, Rachael and Melissa will be leaving Canmore. They are off to California this morning with James Fullen. Girls I will miss you so much. As of this moment the goodbye isn't hard yet. Its not the first time we have had to say goodbye after living together, but this place was so different than Summit. Girls I am so thankful for the time that we spent here together. Thanks for all the memories and being part of my life out here. I know that you all have made so many friends here and hopefully you will be back again someday. I love you and miss you......Joy

I was talking to my mom this morning and I realized how crazy this last week has been and how crazy this next week is going to be. We are into Rachael, Melissa and Hannah's final week now. This past week we have been busy every night. On Monday night I went to 20's & 30's and James and Jody came here. Tues we went to White Swan to the hot springs. There was Shane, Terry, Chris, James, Dave Brayer, Annik, Heather, Rachael, Hannah and I. It was an amazing time spending it with everyone. It was around a 3 hour drive both ways. I slept most of the way back. It wasn't to late we were home before 1:30am. Wed night we went out for supper to Bumper's and then to C&C at the church. We played road hockey it was sweet Shane and the ladies kicked butts. I scored 9 goals. Thrus night (last night) we went to Calgary to get some more California stuff. We went to MEC and then picked up our friend James Epp and went to the mall. I bought a new cell phone. And then we went to East Side Mario's for a late supper. Today I am going snowboarding with Heather and tonight Rachael is going snowboard with a bunch of others. Tomorrow night the 4 of us are going out for supper. I have made all the plans so all they know is that we are going out and what time at. Sunday night we have church. Monday night I have 20's & 30's and they are having Jody over. Tues night as of right now is the only night free. Wed night we have C&C. Thrus night I'm sure something is planned and Friday night I think they need to pack plus there is people coming over and Rachael is going snowboarding. And bright and early Sat they are gone for California. So ya if you have any ideas of anything else we should fit into our schedule just let us know. Well thats all for now I am out of here to go and try my luck again at snowboarding. Later.

So life lately has been fairly busy. Heather came back to Canmore. We had a potluck to welcome her back. Ian and Tanis had their baby on March 14. It was a boy just like we all thought he would be. His name is Corban Michael. Heather and I went to see them at the hospital. On St. Patricks day we went out for a very long supper. Well plan was to go out for green beer, but I didn't have any the place we went for supper didn't serve it. Sat was Annik's birthday so we had a birthday cake here for her. Dave Fafard was also here. We tied him to a chair and timed him to see how long it would take for him to get out of it. Not to bad, he got out in 48 mins. It was his idea. Also on sunday night after chruch we celebrated Annik's birthday again with cake and ice cream at church. So besides getting two new housemates in the last two days and another one coming tomorrow not to much else is new. Well thats the news for this past few weeks. I will add some pics and add more some other day.

Just to update you since I haven't added anything new in the last while. My weeks are fairly busy with church, 20's & 30's, C&C, lots and lots of work and physio 3 times a week. I am mainly trying to figure out right now how to still have an income and also heal. This past week I agreed to give the crutches a try. well that was good for the first 3 days. I found that they were in the way when I was trying to do things. I couldn't work with them at all so that was no good and thats most likely the time I would need them. I don't have much more of an update on my knee other than I need to go and see another Dr and that Dr will decided what needs to happen next. It feels fine most of the time but I am unable to full extended it and thats the main area of concern. I have been learning lately how important it is to trust God. I have found myself praying every morning for strength to make it through my day and in the evening thanking him for that. So ya thats about all thats going on right now. I have a few prayer request for those of you that actually read this. The first one is for my new housemates. I do not know who they will be. As I believe most of you know that Hannah, Rachael and Melissa are all done working and living here with me at the end of March. The second prayer request is for the Dr wisdom when it comes to dealing with my knee and what path is the right one to take. Thank you for taking the time to read this and pray for me, as I am praying for you.

So for you all of you to know what I have done to my knee. I am going to give you a little visual. To start with I have 3 tears, not full tears which is good. My first tear is in my ACL, the second one is in my MCL and the third is in my medial meniscus. So ya this was the news I found out today. Now how is all this going to heal? Thats a good question lets start with the ACL, it could heal but it needs the support of the MCL to heal. And how can my MCL heal? Well you see it needs the support of the medial meniscus and the medial meniscus can't heal without the support of the MCL. So it is going to be a very long road to full recovery. Oh ya I forgot the best part, I should not have been walking on it the last 10 days. Well I didn't help it by walking on it like the Dr said it would. So ya thats whats going on with me. As most of you know I am dealing with some hard times. Tonight through talking to some friends I realized that with my injury right now it is going to be very hard for me to work. I am still finding it really hard to like kneel down or anything that I would need to do for work. So I guess if you guys could pray that some how through all this I will still be able to work and to be affective at my job. Thank you all. Snowboarding...First injury of the year

This week has been a fairly good week for riding. We still need more snow on the mountains but pretty much all is good. Rach and I went out on Thrus all day it was an overall good day. We tried some black diamonds. And Rach tried a double black diamond by herself. It wasn't as good as she hoped. We spent most of our day on blue runs. We went off the groomed trail lots and played in some bumpy areas and also in some powder. Great day lots of runs and nice weather. I took my camera with us so I will post some pics of the day. Rach, Melissa and I went out last night for night skiing. We got there about 5:30 and left around 8ish. But that was enough time for Melissa to do amazing and for me to get injured. Ya thats right my first time this season. Stupid chair lifts! We were getting off and ya some how my board turned an I ended up taking out Rach and my self and wrecking my knee. I went to the hospital just to make sure that it wasn't to badly injured. Its not really I just tore some ligaments. They will heal with time and me working on them to make sure that I can still walk. So ya thats life for now, I took today off work to rest and to hope that my knee starts feeling better...Peace.

I know that I haven't updated in a while. Well this year so far has been busy. I have worked lots and hung out with friends lots too. Last Thrusday Maggie, Rach, Melissa and I hike Johnston canyon and then went to Lake Louise for supper. Friday night was the first night of night skiing at Norquay, which Rach and I enjoyed. We plan on going every friday night. Also after we finished boarding on Friday we went to the Banff Hot Springs with Annik, Marc, Yves, Rachel M, Dave and Nikole. On Sat my friend Rae and I went to a Calgary Hitmen's game. Steven, my boss, gave me 2 free tickets to the game. We enjoyed the game in the 7th row up from the ice. We sat right about where the players walk thru to get to their dressing room. After the game we came back to Canmore to join the birthday celebrations for Christine. Sunday was the work Christmas party. They rented the whole Quarry resturant. It was a good meal followed by gift ceritificates for everyone for different places. I got one for a night stay in Golden B.C. I am excited to actually go there. Through my busy schedule I also managed to get sick through all this. I didn't work full days on Mon and Tues cause I needed to get better. I came home early from work and slept most of the time. I have felt some what better since yesterday morning. Yesterday Rach, Maggie and I went boarding at Norquay. It was a great day we were able to get a lot of runs in. Last night we joined the C&C group to Lake Minnewanka for some time of skating and hot dog roasting. Also Shane lead an amazing Bible Study, thanks Shane.
So ya thats about all thats going on in my life right now, I will update you more when something happens. For now - Joy

Tonight is Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas everyone. I pray that your time will be spent well in remembering what Christmas is about and how important the birth of Christ is and what it has done in our lives. Also time in sharing with friends and family. I know that this Christmas many people will not be home. Some people are having their first Christmas away. I believe that Christmas will feel different each year. There is the usually that you do with your family or there is new that you experience with friends around and your family away. This is my second Christmas not at home. This one is very different from my first. My first was 5 years ago. This one feels very much like my first Christmas away. This Christmas I am in Alberta and I know that over next two weeks I will not be seeing my family. I am trying to fill this Christmas with friends. I believe that my celebrations started on Thursday night with a Christmas dinner at Banff Park Church. I enjoyed the meal very much and the time spend getting to know others and also enjoyed my only Turkey dinner this season. Last night we spend time with the guys that came over to our place. Tonight started with the Christmas Eve service at church. It was on hope and how Christ is our hope that we do have this Christmas. I don't think that I have spent much time thinking about the fact that we do have hope in Christ. I know that when I normally think about hope I think about how I hope that I will be able to do some thing. I guess thinking about having Hope in Christ is something I haven't spent much time thinking about. I do plan to change that and look into it more. After service tonight I spend some time talking to people that I don't get to see to often and some time with people that I do see a lot of. I really enjoy my time after services when I am able to just talk to people about everyday life or what the service was about or what do we want to do after. Tonight I spend some time talking about all those things. We ended up after church coming home and opening some gifts, well Rachael and Melissa did. Followed by going over to Michael, Andrew and Rachel's place. We hung out there for a while and spend some time talking to the people that were there. Michael made some fresh baked cookies and then some of us went to the pond for those that had skates could go skating. The ice wasn't the greatest since it has been fairly warm here the last few days. Then well went back to Michael's for some more hang out time and then came home to wait for Christmas day to arrive and to get some sleep.
Looking ahead to tomorrow I am excited to be able to spend most of the day with Hannah, Rachael and Melissa. We are not to sure of the events of the day but we will figure things out as we go. All we know for sure is that Rach and I have to work for a few hours in the middle of the day. I am looking forward to calling my family tomorrow. I know that both Mark and Amy are home this year to spend the day with Mom and Dad. I miss you all. I realized tonight in church how much I do miss my family. I guess with the season being about Christ birth and coming into this world and becoming a son to Mary and Joseph, I think about being with family. This Christmas will be spend with my family that is part of the body of Christ but I will miss my family.
Tomorrow is the first Christmas away from home for all 3 of the girls in the house with me. I wanted to try to give each one of them a part what their family Christmas would be like. I found that each one is so different that with out doing so many different things it wouldn't be possible. I do not think that I realized to much before how important and different everyone's Christmas is. To look in the Bible at the story of Christ birth you can also see how "Christmas" "Christ's Birth" effected many different people. The shepherds, they heard about it from angels and went to find Christ. The wise man, the followed a star to find him. King Herod, he was mad about it that there would be a new King to take over and he order for Chirst to be found and killed. I can see that this Christmas season has changed the way that I understand Christmas.
Well anyways this is long enough know I hope that for any one who reads this it wasn't to boring and that for the most part it made sense. I wish you all a safe and loving Merry Christmas. I love you all.

The night of Dec 23rd we had some guest come over for a visit. It started with Dave and then Andrew M and Michael. We hung out for the evening and then Michael and Andrew heading home. Well I headed off to bed and slept for the next 6 hours and a bit. I thought that I was dreaming hearing Hannah, Melissa, Rachael and Dave's voices throught the night. But when I got up at 7 am they were all still up and pretty much in the same spots they were when I went to bed. After a while when I was up Dave left and well Rach got tired and end up on the table. And thats all for now, cause Rach, Melissa and I have to go to work. Today is Christmas Eve!!!! :-)

Happy Birthday Hannah. In the two days we have celebrated Hannah's birthday. Last night we went to Calgary We meet up with James Epp. We went shopping and then out for supper. Thank you James for supper. We also picked Rach up from the airport last night. Followed by a stop at wal-mart to finish most of our Christmas shopping. Today I made a birthday cake for her. Another week has just flew by. I have been pretty busy this week. Friday I had some friends from work over for supper. It was pretty good. Sat night was poker night and Melissa, Hannah and Rach played. Sunday we went to church it was great to go back I missed the church while I was gone. Monday was Bible study and Tues was bed early cause I had to get up at 4:15am yesterday. I think yesterday was the best day of the week though. I was up dark and early to take Rach to the airport so that she could go home for a week. I was to the airport and back in bed before 7:45 I was pretty impressed by that. Then I spend a relaxing day doing nothing. Followed by an adventure in the evening. Melissa and I went to Banff Park Church C & C. The group hiked to a pinic area with a fire place. We stood around the fire had a great devo, lead by Shane and some good talk. Also though all that we had some marshmellow roasting and clothing melting. Ya thats right the fire was so hot that when you got to close to it it would melt your clothes. I made some new friends last nigth and hung out with some that I already knew and that was the best part of the day. Thanks guy for hanging out. Not to much exciting planned for this week, well besides a free Paul Brandt concert, watching the Chronicles of Narnia and picking Rach up from the airprt followed by going out for supper to celebrate Hannah's Birhtday. Well I am in my last 25 hrs in Ontario. My time here has went by fast. I have really enjoyed the time I got to spend with my family. Also I was able to spend some time with friends. I went to downtown Toronto yesterday to spend some time with Lindsay. It was great I was a little nervous about the drive and finding my way there but I made it. I can say at some times I was so unsure of where I was going that I would just keep driving and praying to God that I was going the right way. Well I made it there and back with only having to circle around once. And that was to find a parking spot.
Snow........ I saw a lot of that this past week. Wed night when my parents and I were driving home I encountered some crazy drive experiences. I lost control of the car twice and I was sure that I was going to get in an accident but thankfully that didn't happen.Thrusday morning I woke up to snow. I was excited cause it looked beautiful and becuase I got to use the snowblower to clean out the driveway. I don't miss the days of shoveling at all. So I spend some time outside I think I cleaned out 5 driveways. Just a few and that was a good morning. The snow didn't stop falling it was pretty cool. Maggie was flying home that day so I praying all day that the weather wouldn't be as bad in Toronto as what it was at my place. Thankfully it wasn't and Maggie was able to land switch planes and countine on her way home. Which she made it there. :-) Friday seemed to have more snow than thrusday. So I was outside with the snowblower again. This time it was early in the morning, I went out at 8 and came back in at 10. I cleaned out a few driveways that day too, but the best was I made $34. Well that was my busy day this week. I enjoyed it thou. If you were to look out the windows at my house right now you would never know that we had over 3 feet of snow by saturday. It has almost all melted.

Week One Complete

This week has went by fast but also I have seemed to have completed alot as well. I have spend a few days with my friends Rick & Erma and their kids Caleb and Hannah. I saw then Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun and today (mon) so far. On wed i spent the day to myself and did nothing. It was wonderfull. On Thurs I went to Amy Beckner's place. Wow that rock is sweet. I spent thurs night and most of fri with her. We went shopping on fri and really enjoyed the short time that we did have together. Friday night in St. Marys was the santa clause prarade. I enjoyed watching that with my family and my friends. We went back to my parents house for some hot chocolate to warm up since it was the coldest that it has been here and they go their first snowfall. Sat I spend the day with my family celebrating Christmas as this will be the only time that we will all be together. I got a snowboard bag. Now I can fly my board back. I also recieved many little gifts that I will need to find room for. Sunday I went to church it was good to see my church family and also Lindsay was there. Wow new hair style for her nice and um... red. Sun night I went to Stratford to see my friend Ange and her daughter Taralynn and her boyfriend Jimmy. It was nice to spend some time with them. Today I ended up babysitting all morning and then shopping and being treated to a meal at East Side Mario's. I can't complain it was a good day. Well thats pretty much all I have been doing and oh ya going to bed super really at like 9:30pm so 7:30pm Canmore time. Wow crazy. I miss Canmore but I am enjoying my time here.

Ontario............ At Last

What a wonderful day. It all started at 4:45am. My alarm went off and my mom called. So off to the airport Maggie and I went around 5:15. I said my goodbyes to Hannah, Melissa and Rachael at the hotel. Then at almost 6 I said goodbye to Maggie and went to board my flight. No problems there I got there fine got on the plane and found my seat. We sat on the plane for a while then the poilt said that we would be a few mins leaving they were trying to find someones luggage because they decided not to go. So we were already to taxi out and go to take off, but then they came over the speaker and said that due to the weather in Winnipeg we would be unable to land. So I had to get off the plane after being on there for an hour. Then the question was whats next and where do I go from here. So I called Rick and Erma and told them not to go and pick me up at the airport on time I wouldn't be there and then I called Maggie and told her to come get me at the airport. So it turned out that I was not leaving anywhere close to as planned. My new flight time was at 3 pm and it was only shortly after 7am. I was emotional. So I went back to the hotel got some breakfast and went back to bed. Thank God for everything working out. With us staying in a hotel the night before and for Maggie to have a cell phone and my car to come back and get me and for me having a cell phone so that I could get everything figured out.
Well that was most of my morning. We followed that by going shopping and then back to the airport for round two.
Round two started off ok. We got to the airport and found out that the flight was delayed 20 mins. Then that changed landing time so ya more phone calls. Wow I was on my phone a lot today. So then my 3:00 flight was now 3:20. No big deal I was still leaving the airport. Then after boarding the plane we sat on there till 3:45. Then finally after so much time we backed up taxied out to the runway and took off. And I couldn't help but smile the whole way through take off. That flight ended up being a direct flight to London which was great because then all I had to worry about at that point was if someone would be there to pick me up. Well the flight went well I watch tv and had a nap and it seemed like a short 3 hour and 30 min flight. Then I got to the airport and Rick and Erma where there and then we came home. So by 10 pm I was home and only about 8 1/2 hours later than planned. Well that is all for now......... I am going to try to adjust to time change and go to bed early. Well early for Canmore time. It's 11:45pm Ontario time. Later gator...

Edmonton Trip

So ya Rachael, Hannah and I all had tues off and we wanted something exciting to do. So we drove up to Edmonton mon night and went to west edmonton mall for a few hours on Tues. Well actually about 5 hours. We stayed at a Best Western on mon night. We didn't get there till 10 so we just relaxed and I went to sleep early. Then it was tues morning and we went to the mall. It was a cool place. We walked around went shopping in some stores but not to many. We spent some money and I bought some gifts for people. We didn't go in the waterpark or skating on the ice ring but we did take some time to stop and check it all out. There was lots to see and do there. We did go on the rollercoaster. That was so much fun it was really fast and I really enjoyed it, but I can't speak for Hannah. Well thats all I have to say for now, check out our pics we had a good time. Oh ya in the casino between the 3 of us we spent $3 and won $2, so we did pretty well. Well all for now...............Joy

Not to much is new. It snowed for a couple of hours last night and left a good snow covering. Keith, Maggie and I went outside and had a snowball fight. Good times. Melissa got to Canmore on sat night, she started work yesterday and I think she likes it. There is only 13 days now till I go home for 2 weeks to visit with my friends and family in Ontario. I am looking forward to my trip and I know that I will be busy while I am there as there are lots of places I want to go. I will be going to see Renee my first thrusday home followed by a day with Amy Beckner. I have a family "christmas" with my parents and my brother and sister. I will also be spending time with my Grandma and my aunts and uncles and many more friends. I am looking forward to seeing everyone. Well that is all for now............Joy

So, work lately have been really crazy, I love being supervisor and everything but with all the renovations that we are doing makes things a little difficult. Yesterday and today we have had 3 of the 4 floors being worked on. But we have worked through it this far and I am sure things will get easier everyday, especially in the next two days....cause I don't have to go to work. So anyways besides that life is good. Last night Rach, Hannah, JoAnne, Maggie (her first time with us) and I went to church in Banff. The service was really good and it made me think and thats important to me. Pastor Norm seems to challenge me in the ways I act by what he is saying in his messages. I can tell that God is working in me and its hard but it is good to work through. Anyways I have to go now, we are going to our 20's & 30's group tonight and I need to read through the last part of James 1 to be ready for tonight.
